vintage pre-owned
Antique Victorian Velvet Photo Album on Wood Stand
w/Mirrors & Brass Ornate Decorations.
Found at a family estate sale. An incredibly rare find!
The details on the stand and the album are
brass ornamentation – in the typical extravagant Victorian style.
Some age corrosion on some spots (see
pictures).
There’s a little mirror on
front and larger mirror on the inside of stand. The mirror on the cover is diamond
shaped, with a brass ornate trim border.
There are 20 CDV Photographs dating from the 1880s to early 1900s.
Family believe that the album and some
photographs came from Illinois.
Some
photos have names visible and others may have names and dates written on the
back.
Will leave it to the buyer’s
discretion to remove them. All the pages are in beautiful condition and I did
not want to damage the pages by removing photographs.
Very minor tears around the album photograph
insert slit.
The Album is on a wood
stand.
You unlock the clasp on the side
and it’s hinged on the bottom so you actually fold the album downward then
open.
When the album is pulled down it
exposes another 8” by 6” mirror.
Some of
the silver backing of the mirror is missing due to age.
On the back of the wood stand is a storage box
mounted, but it is missing the front piece.
The front velvet is time worn and faded, but
the back side is amazing and still colorful. All the original pages are
present, none are missing from the album.
A previous owner name is written on the last inside album cover.
Overall it stands about 14 1/2” tall by 10” wide.
The Album itself is 11 ½” tall by 8 ½” wide
There is a beautiful latch on the photo album. It still works! The workmanship
on the latch and surrounding detail work are just incredible.
This album and vanity stand is an heirloom
piece, a perfect addition to your collection and love of beautiful memorabilia.
